Black Diamond
Black Diamond is GMA’s proprietary DMA trading platform which serves as the foundation of the GMA product suite. Black Diamond provides users with a robust multi-broker, destination neutral trading solution, coupled with advanced order types and comprehensive account and risk management tools. By drawing on our extensive in house trading experience, we have created a product full of intuitive, value added, trader friendly features, built with the true needs of the professional trader in mind.

Order Engine
The flexibility of the Black Diamond back end allows clients the ability to “plug in” to any FIX engine or proprietary API for order routing, providing instant access to all major sources of liquidity. Black Diamond’s order entry technology allows for real-time manipulation on a broad range of native and simulated order types, including server sided stops, custom order grouping, scaled price processing and basket trading. Furthermore, Black Diamond permits custom order preferences by exchange listing, order destination, order function, and account.

Trade Management and P&L Monitoring
Black Diamond’s Blotter window is a powerful tool with custom grouping, filtering, and subtotaling capabilities for accurate real-time P&L monitoring and risk management across multiple accounts and users. By allowing the user to set custom grouping characteristics, both Traders and Managers can accurately gauge their cumulative market exposure by user, account, broker, sector, symbol, underlying, or even exchange. In addition, Traders can enter, view, and modify live orders across multiple accounts directly from the blotter window, providing them an efficient, centralized Trade Management mechanism.

Trader Montage
Black Diamond’s Montage window effectively combines several trading tools, creating an active order entry, position management, and market data tool in one. Using the Montage window, the trader can see full depth of book across all available exchanges/ecn’s along with level 1 trade data and time and sales information. In addition, the Montage includes order entry, hotkey buttons, and order management capability with real-time position and P&L information. Like all of the Black Diamond application windows, the Montage is highly customizable for user specific preferences.

Flexible Data Solutions
By remaining data agnostic, Black Diamond users have the flexibility to pull from a wide variety of data providers. This creates the ability to view live trade data from multiple sources simultaneously, including full depth of book and level 1 quotes for N.A. equities and level 1 quotes for futures and indices.

Black Diamond’s “component availability controller” provides further flexibility by allowing the user to monitor and alter the status for each established connection and set individual connection preferences or reconnect attempt metrics. However, the availability controller functionality extends beyond the data source controls to all necessary application connections such as the brokering and management servers.

Customizable Interface
Black Diamond’s trader interface was crafted with a focus on flexibility and customization for the end user. As traders, we understand the importance of having market data and trade information delivered to the screen in a way that is aesthetically pleasing and user efficient as possible. With features such as dynamic window tabbing, custom visual filter alerts, user created lists and symbol groups, window linking, extensive color and font selections, data refresh rate settings, hard to borrow alerts, and multi sorting capabilities, Black Diamond’s front end is truly a complete solution for any trader. Additionally, using a centralized database for user profiles and layouts, Black Diamond provides traders the unique ability to access their saved profiles from anywhere. Taking this one step further, GMA’s proprietary sharing mechanism enables circulation of profiles across multiple users at the push of a button.

Account Management & Administrative Tools
Black Diamond has a complete set of account management and administrative tools which make life effortless for a firm manager or administrator. By providing a hierarchical permissioning system, Black Diamond enables Administrators and Managers the ability to exert control over their subordinate users, giving them the power to add, modify, or delete users, user groups, and client broker accounts dynamically throughout the trading day.

Firm Managers are provided a detailed set of real time risk control features for each account which give them the capability to shape trader limits for each trading session and market direction. Features include dynamic commission rate changes and P & L calculation methods, and extending to trading privileges such as; buying power, leverage, position sizing, order sizing, and exposure. If desired, Black Diamond can then facilitate automatic notifications and/or account disabling if limits are violated. An additional set of oversell protection and odd lot preferences can be assigned for each account as well.

The streamlined morning process allows position file and capital account uploads from multiple brokers, which are then automatically cross-checked for position verification by Black Diamond to identify and alert the Manager of any discrepancies. A host of correction features are available shall any variations arise. Additionally, locate allocation can be handled either on the Manager or Trader level, based on the desired preference for each account.
