Green Mountain Analytics is a company born out of necessity. In order to expand their horizons and increase their profitability, our founders needed to “leverage” themselves by analyzing more trading hypotheses, creating more trading systems, recognizing more trades happening in real-time, executing those trades instantly in an efficient manner, and managing the resulting position for optimal profits and minimal risk. A “seamless solution” that offered all these necessary functions on one platform (thereby avoiding the IT nightmare that occurs when linking multiple independent applications) simply wasn’t available in the marketplace, and so they set out to build it themselves.

“BLACK DIAMOND”, our DMA trading platform, is the foundation of our offering. Herein, one may find the “smart” execution and position management tools mentioned above. In addition, we are currently migrating the historical back-testing tools (found in Observer) and the real-time recognition technology (found in ApexView) into the platform to serve as one “seamless solution” from idea generation all the way through to risk management.

In addition, we are creating the next generation of Green Mountain Analytics software products in response to the rapidly changing requirements demanded by the new “algorithmic age” of trading. By leveraging our expertise in event based trading and real-time data management (as well as the world class infrastructure of our partner, Lime Brokerage) GMA is bringing cutting edge tools to mainstream traders in order to help them adapt to, and succeed in, this new market environment.

Apex View   ApexView is a unique “Market Organizer” program that combines real-time equity filters and scanners with a powerful daily Market Summary tool. By joining these real-time and daily data features we have expanded the concept of a filtering or stock scanner program to create a platform that allows traders to “organize” their daily trading strategy, thereby making trading more efficient and profitable.

Observer   Observer is a historical backtesting application that provides the user with a diverse tool set for hypothesis testing. With its intuitive user interface yet extensive functional capability, Observer can be used by both the professional trader and the newcomer with limited quantitative trading experience. Some of its interesting features include statistical filtering, “batch file” testing, multi dependent variable “basket” testing, provisions for “stop loss” optimization, and Monte Carlo style historical options valuation.
